The survival of Corroboree Frogs relies on building up a successful captive breeding and release program. However keeping Corroboree Frogs in captivity is expensive. The total cost of raising a single frog from egg until adulthood, over five years, is $250. This means a total of $100,000 a year is needed just to keep the frogs in captivity!
You can help our captive breeding program by being part of our ‘Adopt-a-Frog’ program. For $50 you can help us to feed and house a Corroboree Frog in one of our captive breeding locations for a whole year!
To Adopt-a-Frog simply fill in the form below. You can choose to name the frog you adopt and whether you want to adopt more than one. You will be able to print out an Adoption Certificate to show that you have contributed to saving Australia's most iconic frog.
Unfortunately we cannot tell you exactly which frog you have adopted as trying to keep track of all the frogs, their owners and their names would be pretty difficult! But you can visit the Corroboree Frogs that are part of the breeding program at Taronga Zoo, Melbourne Zoo, Healesville Sanctuary and Tidbinbilla Reserve.
You can adopt a Corroboree Frog using the following methods:
Currently we are unable to accept any adoptions, however we are working on it.
